Mechanical & piping contractors

Track every spool, valve and flange from order to installed joint.

Piping jobs are won and lost on small items. TraceGrid follows each length of pipe, fitting and spool through quotes, orders, partial deliveries and installation, so the metres you report are the metres in the rack.

Illustration: progress on a 6 inch header by spool and joint, with one spool rejected at the gate for ovality and another still on order.

The pressure you work under

Thousands of small items, one tight margin.

  • Fittings ordered twice, or not at all

With hundreds of elbows, tees, reducers and flanges spread across several isos, nobody can say for certain what is on order. The shortage appears when the fitter reaches for it.

  • Deliveries that arrive in pieces

Pipe comes in three loads and the flanges in two. Partial deliveries recorded on paper rarely match the PO by the time anyone checks.

  • Rejected items that never come back

A spool with ovality or a damaged bevel goes back to the supplier, and the replacement quietly drops off the list.

  • Progress that runs ahead of material

Reports claim metres and joints that could not have been installed with what is on site, and the client's QS spots it before you do.

How TraceGrid helps

Count metres and joints you can prove.

  1. 1

    Bring in the piping BOQ

Pipe by the metre, fittings and valves by the each, spools by the mark. Original and revised quantities stay side by side as isos are revised.

  2. 2

    Order what is still outstanding

RFQs pick up only the unordered balance. Quotes are compared on price and lead time, and awards are made line by line with the reason on record.

  3. 3

Book partials and rejections at the gate

GRNs are pre-filled with what is still owed on each PO. Rejected items are captured with a reason and a photo, and stay open on the order until they are replaced.

  4. 4

Report progress per metre and per joint

Supervisors capture installed metres and welded joints from a phone, limited to the material that has actually arrived.

See it with your own projects

Follow a 6 inch line from quote to installed.

The demo project follows 6" Sch 40 pipe through VO-001, PO-0412, PO-0415 and two deliveries. Open it in your browser, or send us one of your piping BOQs.
